Folkert Koopmans receives Promoter of the Year-award for the second time

Folkert Koopmans, CEO and founder of FKP Scorpio, has yet again been elected Promoter of the Year. Koopmans received the prestigious Arthur Award in the category “Promoter’s Promoter” during the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) in London.

After his first award in 2013, Koopmans was awarded this honour for the second time: “Considering the wealth of remarkable promoters in our business, it really is very special to receive this award for the second time. I would like to thank the countless artists and fans who turned 2018 into a truly special year for FKP Scorpio. But foremost, I’d like to dedicate this award to my team, whose outstanding passion is the founding stone for the success of our work.” FKP Scorpio has been successful for almost 30 years, and last year’s milestones include stadium tours of Ed Sheeran or The Rolling Stones. The concert and festival promoter is active in eight countries and is not only responsible for concerts and shows of newcomers and megastars, but also for festivals such as Hurricane and Southside.

The Arthur Awards are considered the Oscars of the live entertainment industry and have been awarded for the 25th time. Nominees are chosen by delegates and members of ILMC, which is the annual meeting point for leaders of the global live entertainment industry. Well over 4,000 representatives from more than 60 countries take a vote on the elections.
