Concert promoter FKP Scorpio opens office in Belgium

Antwerp based office headed by Jan Digneffe starting as per January 2020

Antwerp / Hamburg – German concert promoter FKP Scorpio opens a new office in Belgium in January 2020. FKP Scorpio Belgium will be headed by Jan Digneffe, who until recently worked as a booking agent/promoter for Live Nation Belgium for over 13 years. FKP Scorpio is one of the leading concert promoters in Germany, organising shows for amongst others The Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran and The Rolling Stones and well known festivals like Southside Festival, Hurricane Festival and Rolling Stone Beach and many more. It has offices and partnerships in multiple countries in Europe, including Friendly Fire in The Netherlands, organising Best Kept Secret Festival.

Jan Digneffe started his career as booker/promoter at Jazztronaut Entertainment in 2002 after receiving his master’s degree at the University of Brussels (VUB). After three years he made the switch to Live Nation Belgium. In March 2012 he moved to London to join Free Trade Agency as an agent with Paul Boswell and James Alderman. Two years later he moved back to Belgium and Live Nation, until recently.
“Years ago, when I started working as an agent for Free Trade Agency in London, I got to know FKP Scorpio as a fantastic and reliable partner to collaborate with”, says Jan Digneffe. “In conversations held with FKP Scorpio later on, I was introduced to people that actually live for music and work towards an independent, clever but yet ‘human’ way to make a difference in the current music industry that globalizes and faces new challenges every day. As from today on I am very happy to be part of FKP Scorpio. I am looking forward with lots of enthusiasm and ambition towards the projects that we will realise all together in Belgium.”

Founded in 1990, FKP Scorpio is now one of the leading live entertainment companies in Europe. In addition to Norway, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Finland, UK and Germany - headquartered in Hamburg, Belgium will become the tenth local office of FKP Scorpio. The company has always remained true to its indie roots, which inspired founder Folkert Koopmans 30 years ago to start the company. FKP Scorpio's goal was and remains to be an early part in the artist's career, as well as to accompany their career path.
Folkert Koopmans (CEO, FKP Scorpio): “Belgium has always been a market in which we have had great interest. It makes perfect sense in our North European portfolio to be able to promote shows there, too. I have great confidence that FKP Scorpio Belgium will be in safe hands with Jan Digneffe and that we are looking at a bright future there. Developing the company together in the market is something that we are really looking forward to!”
